If you have been associated with BYU in previous years (as a student, employee, or participant in any conference or program), you already have a BYU Net ID. Please do not create a new BYU Net ID. If you are unsure of your BYU Net ID, please contact our office at 801-422-7150. After verifying your identity, we can communicate your Net ID to you.
If you CAN sign in, but want to change your password: Go to MY BYU Account and click on the Change Password link.
If you CANNOT sign in, here are a few options.
Reset the password on your own using your recovery email:
- Go to BYU Account Recovery
- Enter your Net ID
- Follow the prompts
Reset the password over the phone:
- Call our office at 801-422-7150.
- After establishing your identity, we will create a temporary password for you.
- You will then create a new password. The password must be at least 10 characters and contain one letter and one number. Special characters are allowed.
The following jobs need to be fingerprinted with wet ink to satisfy California’s education requirement.
- Independent Study High School Instructor
- Student Success Center TA, Tutor, or Peer Mentor
- Some counselors and leaders for various youth camps and programs
- You will be notified individually if this applies to you
- We will do your fingerprints at no charge for you. Please schedule an appointment online.
- If you are unable to come in person, please email us (dce.hroffice@byu.edu) for details on what is needed to comply with California’s requirements before you get your fingerprints taken elsewhere.

Employment verification is done through the Verification Hub. They provide employment information including employment start and end dates, position titles, and wage information. More information can be found on the Verification Hub website.
